The Countryside Code

Please remember a few basics when visiting any of our reserves:

  • Be safe – plan ahead and follow any signs
  • Leave gates and property as you find them
  • Protect plants and animals
  • Take your litter home
  • Keep dogs* under close control
  • Consider other people

*A note about dogs: Because dogs cause distress to both wildlife and livestock, they must be kept on a short lead and / or under close control at all times. On some of the more sensitive sites, dogs are not allowed (except guide dogs). Please clean up after your dog.

There are many events, activities and family days – check our events pages for more information

All Sutton’s nature reserves listed here are free to visit (although restricted access reserves may incur a charge if there is an event on).
