Volunteer Task Days run on the following days:

  • Tuesdays and Thursdays – working on sites around the Borough
  • Wednesdays – carrying out a variety of regular tasks to maintain exhibit gardens and habitats at Sutton Ecology Centre.
  • Monthly – taking place on the 3rd Sunday of the month, this provides people unable to join mid-week Task Days with the chance to become a habitat hero, carrying out tasks on one of the borough’s many nature sites.

Volunteers are currently responsible for making their own way to the various sites around the borough, however if transport poses a problem please let Mark or Dave know, as they may be able to make alternative arrangements.

You are welcome to join the team on site but need to inform us before you set off, as sometimes circumstances lead to changes in the advertised programme.

If you haven’t been out on a Task Day before or want to get involved again please call Mark or Dave from Sutton’s Biodiversity Team, (ideally a week or so before hand) to arrange a brief informal induction and find out what we are up to.

Call Mark on 07872 510 122 or Dave on 07736 338 366 if you require any further assistance.

You can also email Mark with any volunteering enquiries at mark.featherstone@sutton.gov.uk.
